About Amazing Super Zeroes!

Jason Sigler - Artist/Content Nick Ruffilo - Content/Webmaster

Many people have approached me recently (by many, I mean none, but the voices in my head count...) asking me: "Nick! How did you come up with the amazing idea for amazing super zeroes? IT'S SO AMAZING! HOW?! TELL ME! NOW!!!" Well, reader, we have an answer. It all started on amazing day in the summer of 2004. I was sitting in my air conditioned dorm room and thinking to myself: "I want to start a webcomic." Having been the owner of CollegeBoredom.com at the time, I said to myself: "what a better place to put a webcomic than there." Well, needless to say, it was horrible. I can't draw. I have the artistic talent of a slug who is slithering in a field of salt while a child attempts to fry him with a hand-held magnifying glass. But, I do have l33t web-skeeelz and a fairly competent writing ability, so, I said to myself: "ALL I NEED IS AN ARTIST!" NOW THE FUN PART OF THE STORY.

OK, so, I had a problem: I needed to find an artist. It just so happened that an annoying CollegeBoredom fan had IMed me asking me 100000 questions about his website. I felt the need to entertain the kid for a few. I gave him some pointers and decided to check out his site. I noticed that he had ONE good thing about the site - a webcomic. I complimented him on the artwork and he said the dumbest thing ever: "I don't draw it, this kid JASON does." Being the business man I am, I said: "Thanks." Within a day, I e-mailed Jason saying something like: "I like your artwork, don't work for that bozo, work with me, we'll start a strip." He said: "I hate you bitch, I'll cut you." No, just kidding. He agreed to enter into a chat room with myself and my roommate (who also did art). The three of us chatted and decided to go with a humorous strip that was super-hero in nature and had a real storyline. To keep things short and simple, my roommate moved on to different pastures, and Jason and I were the only ones left.

So, thats the backstory of how ASZ came to be (Oh yeah, look at that rhyme, if you notice, I do that quite often). SO now onto a bit about the strip and its genesis so far. To begin, Jason was still working on that other guy's comic as well as one of his own (superior beings). So, we'd release about one strip a month. As time went on, we kept talking about how far the strip could really go. Slowly but surely we saw growth (although not much). Finally I said to Jason: "YO, BITCH, do more strips." He replied: "Nigga please! I'm one step ahead." OK, so it didn't go down like that, we're both whities. In fact, I'm about as white as printer paper. So, back to the story. Jason starting churning out 1 strip a week and now we are where we are. We've been seeing nice 15% or so growth per month, which is nice, but we're still only at like 110 unique viewers/day. So. Thank you for reading this. I'm sorry for any brain cells you may have lost.

-Nick
